So far, the Saints’ free agency has been slow, but the New Orleans Saints still have time to add players to a position that needs them. Running back is a position they need help with, especially if Alvin Kamara ends up being suspended for a while.

Luckily for NOLA, there are still plenty of solid running backs on the free-agent market that could be had at an affordable price. Let’s dive into six high-impact running backs that could make a lot of sense for the Saints this season.

6. Sony Michel

Former Sony first-round pick Michel has had a rocky career, but he presents an intriguing option for the Saints. Michel spent the first three years of his career with the Patriots and exceeded 900 rushing yards in his first two seasons.

Year three Michel struggled to stay healthy and he ended up playing for the Rams last season. He’s only been in the league four years and already has two Super Bowl titles with two different teams.

Although a Super Bowl probably isn’t on the table for Michel if he signs with the Saints, he would have a chance to play a significant role in their offense. He rushed for over 800 yards last year and also found the end zone four times. Spotrac has its projected market value two years worth more than $10 million.
