De Laurentiis Chicken Florentine Contains Ingredients You Probably Have In Your Kitchen
Culinary personality dish includes boneless, skinless chicken breasts, all-purpose flour, unsalted butter, shallots, minced garlic, dry white wine, whipping cream, Italian parsley chopped fresh and thawed frozen cut spinach.
On her food and lifestyle blog Giadzy, De Laurentiis described this effortless yet elegant “classic Tuscan Italian dish” as “a quick and delicious way to get dinner on the table.” Creamy Florentine sauce comes together in a pinch and gives this easy weeknight meal a bit of decadence. If you have it on hand, you can use fresh spinach instead of frozen.
Giada De Laurentiis recipe is simple and satisfying
The chef begins by dredging the salt-and-pepper chicken in flour, then cooks it in melted butter in a “large, heavy skillet” until golden brown. Move the chicken to a plate and cover it with foil to keep it warm.
In the same pan, cook the minced shallots and garlic in more melted butter, “stirring to scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.”
De Laurentiis at this point adds the wine, boiling the mixture over medium-high heat for about three minutes so that the liquid reduces.
The cream is mixed and continues to cook until the sauce thickens and reduces by half. De Laurentiis says to stir in the parsley now, put the chicken back in the pan, and cover it with the sauce.
