MasterChef elimination: Harry Tomlinson dabs on fish dish that fails to impress legendary chef Marco Pierre White

A fish dish gone wrong sent home fan favorite Harry Tomlinson of MasterChef on Monday night.

The Melbourne coffee roaster was eliminated in a challenge where chefs had to use a selection of two ingredients from Marco Pierre White’s pantry favourites.

Harry, who was an early favorite to win the Channel 10 cooking show, served whole baked plaice with a herb and butter sauce.

The judges liked the sauce but were surprised that Harry didn’t choose a fish with a stronger flavor.

Parts of the fish were undercooked, which sealed Harry’s fate.

Ingredients for Marco’s pantry favorites included tabasco sauce, red currant jelly, anchovies, chardonnay vinegar, red wine vinegar, brandy, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, pickles, ketchup, honey, Worcestershire sauce and capers.

Harry says his main mistake was choosing plaice as the main course and opting for a classic method of preparation away from his more typically adventurous style.

“I think that’s the only thing I regret about this cook, choosing to do something that maybe wasn’t authentically mine,” she said. 10 play.
